About Medax OSCE Academy
Medax OSCE Academy is a UK healthcare education provider specialising in OSCE preparation for internationally educated healthcare professionals.
We are currently seeking a UK NMC-Registered Midwife to join our growing academic team as a Midwifery OSCE Trainer.
This is a flexible, UK-based remote position suitable for an experienced Midwife who is passionate about teaching, supporting internationally educated healthcare professionals and developing their career within healthcare education.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging live online Midwifery OSCE training sessions
- Teach and support candidates across the required Midwifery OSCE stations
- Explain clinical concepts, procedures and OSCE expectations clearly and professionally
- Support learners through structured teaching, demonstrations and clinical discussions
- Conduct practical sessionsaProvide constructive feedback and guidance to improve candidate performance, mock OSCEs, assessments, and provide constructive feedback
- Participate in mock OSCE assessments where required
- Assist with developing, reviewing and updating training materials in line with current NMC OSCE requirements
- Liaise with the academic and management team regarding learner progress and training requirements
- Maintain high standards of teaching, professionalism and learner support
Essential Requirements
- Be currently based in the UK
- Hold active UK NMC registration as a Midwife
- Hold a relevant Midwifery degree or recognised equivalent qualification
- Have current or recent clinical experience as a Registered Midwife
- Have a good understanding of UK midwifery practice and professional standards
- Have excellent spoken and written English
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Be confident delivering presentations and teaching learners online
- Be comfortable using Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, Word and other common digital platforms
- Have access to a reliable internet connection and a suitable professional environment for delivering online classes
Desirable
- Previous OSCE training or teaching experience
- Experience as a mentor, preceptor, practice supervisor or educator
- Experience supporting internationally educated nurses or midwives
- Previous experience delivering online training or presentations
- Good understanding of the current NMC Midwifery OSCE structure and expectations
Previous OSCE teaching experience is desirable but not essential. If you are an NMC-registered Midwife with strong clinical knowledge, good communication skills and an interest in developing your career in teaching, we would be happy to consider your application alongside experienced trainers.
